Philip Gordon Sheldon was born October 10, 1951, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Gilbert and Rosalie (Sander) Sheldon. He graduated from Clarence High School in 1970. He proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1971 to 1973. He married Jacquelyn Rae Wenndt on September 2, 1978, in Lowden. He was employed with River Valley Cooperative in Stanwood. He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ Church in Clarence. He was an avid hunter, enjoyed the Outdoor channel and playing basketball. He was well known for his unique dancing. Surviving are his wife, Jacquelyn; three daughters, Regan (Matt) Jacobson of Minona, Rachel Sheldon of Onalaska,WI, and Randi (Cody Phillips) Sheldon of Marion; his parents, Arthur and Rosalie Sheldon of Clarence; one granddaughter, Morgan; five sisters, Connie Crock of Mankato, MN, Janice Gsell of Eldridge, Barbara Sheldon of Redford, MI, Nancy Sheldon of Los Angeles, CA, and Jill (Craig) Hlas of Cedar Rapids; one brother, Ronald Sheldon of Lompoc, CA; and several nieces and nephews.
