Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Arapahoe with the Rev. James Moshier officiating. Burial will be at Arapahoe Cemetery. Wenburg Funeral Home in Arapahoe is in charge of the arrangements. She was born Aug. 1, 1926, in Arapahoe to John and Lillie (Fahnholz) Wieland. Wenburg Funeral Home in Arapahoe is in charge of the arrangements. She was born Aug. 1, 1926, in Arapahoe to John and Lillie (Fahnholz) Wieland. On April 7, 1946, she married Theodore "Ted" Wendland in Norton, Kan. He preceded her in death. Survivors include her sons, Jerry Wendland and his wife, Sheila, of Denver, Billy Wendland and his wife, Bonnie, of Paxton and Dale Wendland and Tammie Young of Overton; daughters, Darlene Wymes of Brunswick, Ga., and Wanda Pulley and her husband, Joel "Hank," of Arapahoe; brother, Myrl Wieland and his wife, LaVerna, of Oxford; sister, Marlene Corder and her husband, Richard, of Lincoln; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. Phyllis grew up in Arapahoe where she attended Arapahoe Public Schools. She worked at the C.A. Swanson Plant in Oxford. She worked many years at the Derby Café and later she went to work for the U.S. Postal Service and retired after 23 years of dedicated service. To her union with Ted, five children were born, three sons and two daughters. Phyllis was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Arapahoe and the American Legion Auxiliary of Arapahoe. Many people may remember Phyllis starting the SHARE Program in Arapahoe and donating many years of volunteer hours. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; infant sister, Darlene; brothers, George and Wilhelm "Bill"; son-in-law, James Wymes; granddaughter, Sara Holloway; and grandson, Jackson Egge.
