Read More	HEATH, PHYLLIS LUCILLE—Phyllis Lucille Dudley Heath was born to Dorsey Dudley and Lucy Beavers Dudley on November 23, 1912, at Superior, and passed away April 21, 2006, at the Fillmore County Hospital in Geneva, at the age of 93 years, four months and 28 days. She was one of two children in the family. Her family lived in Stromsburg for a time before moving to Geneva. Phyllis attended Geneva Public High School and graduated in 1930. In 1925, she became a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ, where she remained an active member until poor health and old age required her to stay at home. She helped serve many dinners and made crafts for the bazaars. Following high school graduation, she worked at Geneva Land Co. Shortly thereafter, Phyllis joined the staff at Geneva State Bank, where she remained until October of 1940. Phyllis and Bud moved to Waldport, Ore., to run a grocery store. They returned to Nebraska in December of 1945. She and her husband owned and operated a grocery store, Heath’s Quality Market, in Geneva for many years. Phyllis was married to Alvan “Bud” Heath of Geneva on June 2, 1932, and to them two children were born—Helen JoAnn and Nancy Sue. At one time, she belonged to Degree of Honor Lodge, Rebekah Lodge, Mother’s Club, Tuesday Afternoon Kensington, and two bridge clubs. Phyllis was an avid reader. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and loved having them in her home. Her home was their “home away from home”. They kept her young with stories, card games, and games of “Aggravation”. They especially liked her cookies and fudge. Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, Dorsey and Lucy; brother, Chester; and her husband, Bud Heath, all of Geneva. She is survived by daughters, JoAnn and husband Hank Bulin; Nancy and husband Gaylord Cradduck; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Gertrude Dudley and two nephews. It was her wish that there be no viewing and a private cemetery burial. “Remember me with a smile,” she said. Funeral services were conducted from First Congregational United Church of Christ in Geneva, on Monday, April 24, with Pastor Lynn Strandt officiating. Musical selections were “Now is the Hour” and “The Battle Hymn of the Republic.” Pallbearers were Hank, Scott and Shawn Bulin, Gaylord, Mark and Michael Cradduck. Interment was in the Geneva Public Cemetery. The Nebraska Signal April 26th, 2006 page 15.
