Pitzl, 85 of Plymouth, MN, formerly of Eden, SD was held on Saturday, October 28, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Eden, SD with the Rev. Fr. Thomas Cool, Celebrant. Pallbearers were Jason, Sam, and Ben Pitzl, Blake Earney, Kris Gulbranson, and Mike Gulbranson. The Cahill Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements. Priscilla was born on September 25, 1921 near Eden, SD to Frank and Katherine (Michlitsch) Samson. She grew up and attended country school. Following her education she helped on the family farm. Priscilla was united in marriage to Bernard Pitzl on November 23, 1943 at Eden, SD. The couple farmed near Eden, and from 1972 to 1979, Priscilla worked at Dakotah Inc. She liked to sew, bake and garden. In 1980 after her husband passed away, Priscilla moved to Plymouth, MN to live with her daughters. Priscilla passed away on October 24, 2006 at the Hospice Unit at Methodist Hospital, St. Louis Park, MN after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by her family. Priscilla is survived by seven children, Don and wife, Carol Pitzl of Lake City, SD, Bernard Jr. and wife, Evonne Pitzl of St. Paul, MN, Diane and husband, Lanny Thompson of Hopkins, MN, Delores Gulbranson of Plymouth, MN, Genevieve and husband, Bruce Earney of Plymouth, MN, Patti and husband, Ron Bien of Corcoran, MN, and Dale and wife, Julie Pitzl of Eden, SD; three brothers, Herbert and wife, Gail Samson of Lake City, SD, Wulfran Samson of Forest Lake, MN, and Norbert and wife, Kathleen Samson of St. Paul, MN; two sisters, Mrs. Elvira Janisch of Fremont, NB, and Mrs. Goldie Hansen of Veblen, SD; fourteen grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Priscilla was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and two brothers, Adolph and Delbert Samson. Sisseton Courier October 31, 2006
