Description	:	The Lyon County News and The Emporia Times, 24 Oct 1918, Thursday FUNERAL OF JOHN WHITE The funeral services for John Leslie White, who died in St. Paul, Minn., from pneumonia, following influenza, were held at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John White, four miles southeast of Americus, Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. M. R. Molesworth, pastor of the Americus Methodist church officiated, and the Methodist Church choir furnished the music. The interment was made in the Americus Cemetery, and a firing squad from Company A took charge of the military manouvers... The interment was made in the Americus Cemetery, and a firing squad from Company A took charge of the military manouvers at the grave. Besides his father and mother, Leslie leaves five sisters and three brothers. They are Mrs. Elvessa Mooer, Mrs. Erma Ames, Grace, Ora, Tom, Glenn, Gerald and Bernice. They all live at Americus, and were all home for the funeral except Tom, the oldest brother. Mr. White received word that Tom had arrived safely overseas the same morning that they had received the message that Leslie was critically ill. When Mrs. White reached St. Paul, he seemed to be recovering, and was to be granted a furlough and come home with is mother, when he had a relapse and died suddenly.∼From Emporia, KS.
