On October 2, 1856 he was united in marriage to Miss Louisa Jane Wood of Union County Ohio. Living there until 1862. Howsman was born 30 August 1834 in Madison Ohio died in Grand Island Aug 14, 1913 age 78 years, 11 months and 15 days. On October 2, 1856 he was united in marriage to Miss Louisa Jane Wood of Union County Ohio. Living there until 1862. He then enlisted in the army serving three years and received an honorable discharge in 1870 the family moved to Montgomery county Iowa living there four years then moving to Howard County Ne where they now reside. To this union were born eight children Mary E. wife of Levi Mohler of Cushing Bradford Wood Howsman of Washington state, Pheobe F. wife of Robert Henderson, Toledo Ohio. Louisa Belle wife of William Boyd of Kansas Maggie L. wife of Byron Baker of Weeping Water Nebraska Family links: Harriett F. wife of Henderson Gourley of Elba Nebraska John Howsman of Farwell Nebraska and Theodore Howsman of his home. Rev. T.J. Parker had charge of the funeral services which were held from the U. B. church Sunday morning and friends of the deceased and of the family followed the remains to his final resting place. The pall bearers were chosen from the old soldiers they being Comrades Joe Anthony Musician company B 74th Ohio Infantry, Henry Hill 96th Regiment Ohio, Henry Sample Smith Company H 10th Regiment infantry, Missouri also Henry Smith served in Company K. 1st Regiment Calvary,Macon Missouri, William.H. Baliman 13th Regiment Infantry Illinois, Abraham. C Snyder 3rd Wisconsin Calvary, and Amaziah L.
