He and John Zyntek had planned to go fishing and Mr. Zyntek stopped for him found him lying on the bed and was unable to arouse him. Read More	UNMARKED GRAVE Single, living in Elba, Howard, NE in 1940 ∼The community was greatly shocked when word spread saturday evening tht Frank Houseman was found dead in his home here. He and John Zyntek had planned to go fishing and Mr. Zyntek stopped for him found him lying on the bed and was unable to arouse him. He apparantly had been dead for some time, although no sign of struggle was shown. He was last seen Thursday evening. He had lived alone since his mother's death many years ago, and although frank had failed in health the past year it was not alarming as he was always willing to help out when anyone needed help. He had been assisting Bill Keller all spring and summer on the farm. Frank Housman one of eight children of Mr. and Mrs. William Housman was born in Howard County near Cushing Nebraska on Sept 15, 1877 and pased awy at his home in Elba on 24 July 1948 at the age of 70 years, 10 months and 9 days. He was the son of pioneering parents who resided in Ohio, Iowa and then came to Nebraska in 1873 and homesteaded near Cushing which was Frank's birthplace the father died in 1913 and shortly after that Frank and his mother moved to Elba where they bought a small property which has been Franks home. the mother died in 1931 at the age of 91, Frank never married. He followed the carpenter trade during much of his life but in later years he helped out in various capacities wherever he was needed. He was a kindly and friendly man by nature and greatly enjoyed hunting and fishing. He is one of the last of his family, his brother John was last heard of about 16 years ago at Osceola. the other brothers and sisters preceded him in death. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Mcintyre funeral home in St. Paul with Rev. E. A. Ahrens condcuting the service. Mrs. Ralph Zlomke sange two numbers with Mrs. Herbert Falk at the piano. burial was made at elba cemetery.
