Description	:	R. Bruce McNeff, 73, longtime Brule resident, passed away June 17, 2016, at the Ogallala Community Hospital. Bruce was born on Dec. 14, 1942, in rural Keith County, the son of Roy and Reba (Hughes) McNeff. He attended St. Paul’s Lutheran elementary school in Ogallala and high school in Brule. On June 23, 1963, he married Jeanne K. Frates. He then began his more than 25-year career in farming in rural Brule. Bruce McNeff, 73, longtime Brule resident, passed away June 17, 2016, at the Ogallala Community Hospital. Bruce was born on Dec. 14, 1942, in rural Keith County, the son of Roy and Reba (Hughes) McNeff. He attended St. Paul’s Lutheran elementary school in Ogallala and high school in Brule. On June 23, 1963, he married Jeanne K. Frates. He then began his more than 25-year career in farming in rural Brule. He was involved in the Brule St. John’s Lutheran Church, Brule Lions Club, Volunteer Fire Department and the Brule Cemetery Board. Bruce’s many hobbies included gardening, wire sculpting, designing and welding rebar and barbed wire cacti, shooting and hunting. He also loved music, playing the accordion and the piano. Preceding him in death was his son, Andy McNeff; his daughter, Toni, her husband Tim and their daughters, Ardena and Jessica; his parents; and his brother, Murl. Survivors include his wife, Jeanne; son, Brian (fiancée, Chris Gantz), all of Brule; daughter, Carol (John) Biel of York; grandsons, Seynen and Caylen McNeff of Lincoln; granddaughter, Emily Biel of York; great-grandson, Asher McNeff of Lincoln; one brother, Russell (Debbie) McNeff of Denver, Colorado; and nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Services will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 25, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Brule with the Rev. Jon Dickmander officiating. Inurnment will be at the Brule Cemetery. Draucker Funeral Home, Ogallala, is in charge of arrangements.
