Published in the Piscataquis (ME) Observer 8 Sep 1870 p2: "DIED---In Foxcroft, after a long and tedious illness, Sept. 2d, Mrs. Rachel Robinson, aged 90 years and 22 days. One of the early settlers of this region, she lived indeed to see the wilderness changed to fruitful fields. Her husband, Ellis Robinson, died 38 years since---and during all her long widowhood, she found, in the home, and the constant care of her affectionate son, Leonard, and his excellent wife, all a mother could desire. Her life was long, and on the whole a happy one. She was blessed, naturally, with a cheerful disposition---and then for more than 50 years she was constantly comforted with a strong hope in Christ, as her Savior. A great many years ago she made a profession of religion, was baptized by Eld. Norton, and united with the Baptist Church in Livermore. Coming to this, then wild region, she removed her relation to the church in Guilford---and when the Baptist Church of Dover and Foxcroft was formed, she was one of its constituent members. All through her life, she shared largely in the love and confidence of the members of the church and the whole community. At last she passed away, as she lived, trusting wholly in Christ, and happy in that trust. During the last of her life, all that troubled her was the fear she should not be patient. She said, she 'had enough of this world, and only wanted to go to the brighter one beyond.' This desire is now gratified, and she is with the spirits of the just made perfect on high."
