Read More	Rachel S. McCully Sept. 3, 1891 – Sept. 30, 1986 Rachel S. McCully of Grand Junction died Tuesday at St. Mary's Hospital and Medical Center. She was 95. She was born Rachel S. Sanders on Sept. 3, 1891 at Broughton, Kan., to Harry Maxwell and Flora Sylvia White Sanders. She spent her childhood in Broughton and attended Clay Center High in Clay Center, Kan. She moved with her family to Silt in 1912 settling on Divide Creek. She married Harry Hemphill McCully on July 30, 1913, in Silt. After their marriage they moved to Bakersfield, Calif., where he was employed as an engineer. Mr. McCully died on Jan. 22, 1920, in Silt. Mrs. McCully taught grade school in Kansas. She also worked for the Colorado Department of Revenue in Denver and later in Grand Junction. At the time of retirement, she worked for Monarch Aviation. She enjoyed music. Mrs. McCully was a Gray Lady at St. Mary's Hospital and Teller Arms Nursing Home, a member of the L.O.A, M & M Guild, Women's Fellowship, and the National Secretaries Association. She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Grand Junction. Survivors include a brother, Robert W. Sanders of Fruita; two nieces, Helen Quain of Hotchkiss, and Doris Hilpert of Salt Lake City; four nephews, Robert W. Sanders Jr. of Arvada, H. Lewis Sanders of Garden Grove, Calif., Charles W. Sanders of Aurora and Maxwell Sanders of Napa, Calif. A sister and two brothers are deceased. Funeral services will be at 7 p.m. Sunday at Martin's Mortuary chapel with the Rev. Richard Riddoch of the First Congregational Church officiating. Graveside serves will be Wednesday at Greenwood Cemetery in Clay Center. Visitation will be today after 10 a.m. and from noon until the service time Sunday at Martin's Mortuary. Memorial contributions may be made to the Rachel McCully Memorial Fund, in care of the First Congregational Church or through Martin's Mortuary.
