Description	:	RALPH FRANKLIN ARNOTT Ralph Franklin Arnott, son of Frank and Margaret (Gindelsperger) Arnott, was born on December 8, 1902 in Adams County, Iowa and passed away very suddenly February 24, 1978 at the age of 75 years. He attended several country schools and never missed Sunday School, which was held at the McMillan Country School. Read More	RALPH FRANKLIN ARNOTT Ralph Franklin Arnott, son of Frank and Margaret (Gindelsperger) Arnott, was born on December 8, 1902 in Adams County, Iowa and passed away very suddenly February 24, 1978 at the age of 75 years. He attended several country schools and never missed Sunday School, which was held at the McMillan Country School. He lived several places, but most of his boyhood was spent on a farm south of Nodaway. His mother passed away when he was 16 years old. Shortly after that he went out on his own. He worked for several farmers in the area and then went to Watson, Missouri where he worked several years. On December 24, 1923, he was married to Alice Durham at Corning. They lived at Watson for a while and then came back to the Nodaway area. On September 24, 1971, Alice passed away at the Corning Hospital. Ralph remained in their home until March 18, 1973 when he and Evelyn King were united in marriage at the home next to his, which they remodeled. They lived there until his death. Ralph’s motto as “Work” and he loved the farm and livestock, He enjoyed his new family; the grandchildren, and great grandchildren and many friends. Besides his wife, Evelyn, he is survived by his step children, Dorothy Dumler and her husband Bill; and Bill Wright and his wife, Grace. Also 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother and father and brother, Delmar. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, March 1, 1978 at 2:00 p.m. at the United Presbyterian Church in Villisca, Iowa with Dr. Chris Herring officiating. Honorary casket bearers were Carroll Gray, Wade Schooley, Paul North, Orville Anderson, Paul Bennett, John Lint, and Kenneth Agnew. Casket bearers were Paul Poston, Wayne Spencer, Robert Cerven, Fred Scholey, Kenneth Blank, and David Humphrey. Flower bearers were Mrs. Carroll Gray, and Mrs. Kenneth Agnew. Music was by Norman Weaver, accompanied by Mrs. Quincy Dunn. Selections were, “The Old Rugged Cross” and “Just A Closer Walk With Thee.” Mrs. Arlene King and Mrs. Corwin Mauderly were at the Registry. Francis Frey and Lyle Frey were ushers. Burial was at the Villisca Cemetery beside his first wife, Alice who preceded him in death in 1971. Arrangements were made by Sutphen Funeral Home, Villisca, Iowa. Dinner for the family was serviced at the Presbyterian Church at noon by Hope Circle. Lunch was served to relatives and friends after the service by Ralph and Evelyn. He has lived in Villisca for several years but for many years was a resident of Nodaway Community. Funeral services were to be Wednesday, March 1, at 2 p.m at the Presbyterian Church in Villisca.
