Description	:	OBITUARY-THE TECUMSEH CHIEFTAN RALPH MERSHON Ralph Dean Mershon, son of Harry and Clydia Souders Mershon, was born at Wilcox on September 19, 1895. The family moved to Cook where he lived until one year ago. He graduated from Cook High School. He married Jennie Young on July 8, 1917. They had one daughter, Lois, and also raised Jennie's sister, Lila Belle Young. Ralph attended the Babcock School of Pharmacy in Des Moines, Iowa and purchased the drugstore from his father in 1918, and he served the community as a pharmacist for 60 years. The family moved to Cook where he lived until one year ago. He graduated from Cook High School. He married Jennie Young on July 8, 1917. They had one daughter, Lois, and also raised Jennie's sister, Lila Belle Young. Ralph attended the Babcock School of Pharmacy in Des Moines, Iowa and purchased the drugstore from his father in 1918, and he served the community as a pharmacist for 60 years. After selling the store, Ralph continued to work on a parttime basis until October 1981. Following a hospitalization he became a resident of the Tecumseh Care Home, until February, 1982, when he was transferred to the Blue Valley Home in Hebron. He died on October 29, 1982, at the age of 87 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jennie in 1973. Survivors include his daughter, Lois and her husband Walter Mannschreck of Hubbell; four granddaughters, Linda Barrow of Denver, Pamela and Jerry Johnson of Shawnee, Kansas, Penelope and Steven Parker of Omaha and Debra and Elton Schoenrock of Gladstone and five great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Cook United Methodist Church Nov. 4, with burial in the Cook cemetery.
