Blandley, 49, New Douglas, Ill., formerly of Council Grove, died at 9:10 a.m. Tuesday, August 16, 1994, at St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield, Ill. He was born July 10, 1945, at Council Grove, Kan., a son of Dorothy Hylton Blankley of Council Grove and the late Vere Blankley. In addition to his mother, surviving are two sons, John Blankley and Wife Debbie, and Aaron Blankley, all of New Douglas; two daughters Mrs. Dwayne (Lisa) Sievers of Worden, Ill., and Michele Blankley of New Douglas; his ex-wife, Linda Hatcher of Kampsville, Ill.; four brothers, Hiram Blankley and wife Mary of Allen, Kan., Duane Blankley and wife Janet of Livingston, Kay Blankley and wife Alice K. of Council Grove, and Donald Blankley and wife Hildred of Oskaloosa, Kan.; two sisters, Mrs. Dale (Alice) Kahle of Herington and Mrs. Dorvan (Mary) Fischer of Augusta, Kan.; and six grandchildren, Derick, Johnny, and Ashley Blankley, all of New Douglas, and Nicholas, Renee, and Amanda Sievers, all of Worden. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Joshua Adam. Mr. Blankley was a maintenance worker for Georgia-Pacific in Mount Olive for 31 years. He was a member of United Steel Workers of America. Visitation was Thursday, August 18, at Lesicko Funeral Home in Livingston. Services where Friday, August 19, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Maurice Alms officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Council Grove at a later date. Memorials may be direct5ed to the minor children.
