Description	:	BLOOMFIELD - Ralph Eugene Downing, 58, died unexpectedly Sunday about 7 a.m. at his home near Bloomfield. He was a lifelong farmer in Davis County. The son of Alva and Maude Downing he was born in Davis County Dec. 14, 1905. He was a member of the Eldon Christian Church. He married Clemme Barker on Oct. 15, 1925, in Ottumwa, who survives. Survivors besides his widow include two sons, Ralph Downing Jr. of Des Moines and Harvey of near Bloomfield; three daughters, Mrs. Marilyn Inman, Mrs. Janice Stufflebeam and Miss Sarah Sue Downing, all of Des Moines; 10 grandchildren, and... He was preceded in death by his parents. The funeral will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Eldon Christian Church with the Rev. Earl Menning officiating. Burial will be in the IOOF Cemetery at Bloomfield. The casket will be taken to the church from Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield Wednesday noon.
