Description	:	Funeral services for Ralph H. Pratt, 81, of New Market will be at 2 pm, Saturday at Walker Funeral Home with Rev Ron Blix officiating. Pratt, a longtime New Market businessman died this Thursday morning [May 19] at Municipal hospital where he had been since last Friday. He was born June 3, 1895, near New Market, the son of D.M. and Isabelle Watson Pratt. He married Essie Bankston Oct 2, 1916. Pratt, a longtime New Market businessman died this Thursday morning [May 19] at Municipal hospital where he had been since last Friday. He was born June 3, 1895, near New Market, the son of D.M. and Isabelle Watson Pratt. He married Essie Bankston Oct 2, 1916. Pratt was a veteran of W.W.I., and charter member of the Legion Post at New Market. He was a 50 years member of the New Market Masonic lodge where he served as treasurer for many years. He was also a 50 year member of the O.E.S. and member of the New Market United Methodist Church and helped organize the New Market Civic Club. After returning from W.W. I, he operated a cafe in New Market and later operated an insurance agency and real estate office before his retirement. Besides his wife of the home in New Market he is survived by a daughter, Mrs John (Gene) Pace of Ames, and 5 grandchildren. Roy Pratt of New Market is a brother. He was preceded in death by a son, Major Ralph Pratt in 1955. Burial will be in Memory cemetery at New Market. Memorial may be made to New Market United Methodist Church.
