Hedden, older son of Finis R. and Bertha Hedden, was born at Sutton, Neb., March 4, 1928. He passed away as the result of a fatal traffic accident near Lincoln, Neb., May 14, 1966, aged 38 years, 2 months and 11 days. February 24, 1951, he was married to Marcia W. Borden at Columbus, Neb. To this union were born two daughters, Kathryn and Michele, and two sons, Jeffrey and Steven, all at home. The Hedden's resided in Geneva the first five year of their marriage, after which they moved to York, where they lived until last January, when they moved to Omaha where Ralph was employed by the Dennis Company. He was a member of the First Methodist church in Geneva, the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Geneva, the American Legion and the volunteer Fire Department of York. He was a good husband and father and will be missed sorely by his family. He was a good neighbor and had many friends who will have an empty spot in their lives because he is gone. Besides his wife and children, there remain to mourn his passing his mother, Mrs. Bertha Fidler, and his stepfather, Dewey D. Fidler; a sister, Mrs. Delores Sole, and her husband, Dick, of Waterloo, Ia.; a brother Ted, and his wife, Dawne Lorraine of Geneva, a step-brother, Denzil Fidler, and his wife, Betty of Chula vista, Cal.; a step-sister, Mrs. Donna Deepe and her husband Owen of Bruning, besides a number of aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Finis R. Hedden. Funeral services were held at the First Methodist church in Geneva at 2:30 p. m. Tuesday, May 17. Dr. E. E. Jackman officiated. Mrs. H. A. Rosenau sang “Beyond the Sunset” and “Going Down the Valley.” Mrs. Melvin Olson was accompanist. Pallbearers were M. D. Babcock k, Loren Hofferber, Ray Jirkovsky, Donald Sorensen, Maurice Lovegrove and William Neville. Interment was in the Geneva cemetery with the Geneva post of the Veterans of Foreign Wars giving military honors at the graveside. The Nebraska Signal May 19th, 1966 page 9.
