Description	:	Funeral services for Ralph W. Lane of 425 Cleveland will be con ducted 11 a.m. Friday from Chaney Walters Funeral Home, the Rev. Timothy Goettel officiating. Graveside rites by Sterling B.P.O.Elks Lodge No. 1336 and Sterl ing American Legion Post No. 20 and burial will follow in Riverside cemetery. Mr. Lane, 66, died Tuesday in Sterling. He was born Oct. 25, 1918 in Atwood, the son of Simeon A. and Julia J. Stratton Lane, received his education in Atwood schools, graduating from Atwood High School in 1936. He was born Oct. 25, 1918 in Atwood, the son of Simeon A. and Julia J. Stratton Lane, received his education in Atwood schools, graduating from Atwood High School in 1936. He married Alma Bauder, Aug. 14, 1939 in Sidney, Neb. Mr. Lane served in the U.S. Army during World War II from June 4, 1945 until July 29, 1946, when he discharged from active service and returned to Sterling. He was a trucker most of his life, working for many years as an in dependent trucker. He worked for Dean Resler Truck Service 1960-1966, then went to work at Marsau's for three years before going to work for Northwest Motor Freight in 1969 Until retiring in 1974. Mr. Lane was a member of the Protestant faith, life member of Sterling B.P.O.Elks Lodge No. 1336 and the Sterling American Legion Post No. 20. He is survived by his widow, Mrs.Alma Lane; a daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Albrandt; a son, Elton Lane; a brother, Irvin E. Lane, all of Sterling; two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth M Wells of Bakersfield, Calif., and Mrs. Mary L. Spanjer of Fort Collins and three grandchildren. Chaney-Walters Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
