Ramona furthered her education at the Commercial Extension School of Commerce in Omaha and worked as a switchboard operator. On April 20, 1952, she married Thomas Bales. The couple lived in Walthill and Oakland before settling in West Point in 1962. Ramona moved to St. Joseph's Retirement Community in 2013 and then to Brookstone Acres in 2018. Ramona was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. When she was not raising her family, she took great pride in her garden. In her later years, Ramona could be found working in her word search books, doing puzzles and crafts, and spending time with her friends. Ramona is survived by her children, Mary Trevino of Columbus and Glen (Tina) Bales of Fort Collins, CO; 9 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; brother, Albert "Hoot" Christ of West Point; and best friend, Norma. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Tom; sons, Jim and Chuck; daughter, Beverly Grashorn; brothers, Art, Emil, Clarence, Henry, Ernie, Jerry, and Gene Christ; and sisters, Mildred Biggio and Clara Hankins.
