The Seneca Tribune, Seneca, Kansas Friday, February 26, 1904, page 5 Ransom Sanborn, the aged father of A G Sanborn, died at the home of the latter at six o'clock Thursday morning. A little over a week ago he was attacked by the grip, and this with his extreme age proved too much for his weakened condition. Deceased came here to reside with his son about four years ago, but owing to his advanced age spent most of his time at home and made few acquaintances except among those who visited at the home. For one of his years his health had been unusually good up to the time the grip attacked him. Ransom Sanborn was born in Sanbornton, N H, May 24, 1814, thus lacking but a few weeks of being ninety years of age. From New Hampshire he moved to Lowell, Mass, where he was married to Emily Kenaston, whose death occurred at Maryville, Mo, about seven years ago. A son and daughter of this union are buried at Maryville and one son survives. From Lowell the family moved several times, and lived successively in New Hampshire, Illinois, Minnesota and Missouri. After the death of Mrs Sanborn the husband came to Seneca, and as above stated, made his home with his son. No funeral services were held here. The body was taken back to Maryville, Mo, where funeral services were held and he was laid to rest beside his dead wife and children. Contributor: Anonymous (48825891)
