Description	:	Ray C. Larson (1909 - 1993) Ray C. Larson was born on a farm north of Deloit, Iowa, August 21, 1909, the son of Frank and Anna Caroline Meyer Larson. He was raised on the farm receiving his education in the rural schools before being graduated from the Deloit High School with the Class of 1927. On March 2, 1941 Ray was united in marriage with Margaret Linden at Springfield, Missouri. Their union was blessed with three children, James, Avis and Ross. Larson was born on a farm north of Deloit, Iowa, August 21, 1909, the son of Frank and Anna Caroline Meyer Larson. He was raised on the farm receiving his education in the rural schools before being graduated from the Deloit High School with the Class of 1927. On March 2, 1941 Ray was united in marriage with Margaret Linden at Springfield, Missouri. Their union was blessed with three children, James, Avis and Ross. During World War II Ray served his country for five years in the United States Army and upon his discharge he returned to the home place where he farmed all of his life. Due to falling health he entered the Denison Care Center In October of this year. Ray died Friday morning, November 19, 1993, at the Crawford County Memorial Hospital in Denison. At the time of his death he had attained the age of 84 years, 2 months and 28 days. He was a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church in Kiron and the American Legion Post 383, Kiron, Iowa. Including his parents Ray was preceded in death by one brother, Rudolph Larson. Those who remain to cherish his memory include his wife, Margaret Larson of rural Deloit, three children and their spouses, James and Peggy Larson of Rabat, Morocco, Avis and Richard Goldy of Houston, Texas and Ross and Kathleen Larson of Des Moines, Iowa, six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Edith Hawley of Denison and Irma Knief of Kiron. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, November 24, 1993, at the Bethel Lutheran Church in Kiron, Iowa, with the Rev. Victor N. Johnson officiating. Interment was in the Bethel Lutheran Cemetery at Kiron, Iowa.
