Description	:	Ray M. Enarson, son of Louis Enarson and Dora Marvick Enarson was born August 30, 1904 on a farm northwest of Villisca and passed away February 24, 1980 at the age of 75. Ray graduated from Villisca High School in 1922 and attended Iowa University for one year. He worked for Standard Oil for several years before his employment with the Postal Department as a mail carrier and then an Assistant Postmaster serving in those positions for fifteen years each, and retiring in 1964. Enarson, son of Louis Enarson and Dora Marvick Enarson was born August 30, 1904 on a farm northwest of Villisca and passed away February 24, 1980 at the age of 75. Ray graduated from Villisca High School in 1922 and attended Iowa University for one year. He worked for Standard Oil for several years before his employment with the Postal Department as a mail carrier and then an Assistant Postmaster serving in those positions for fifteen years each, and retiring in 1964. After retiring he worked for some local firms for several years. On August 22, 1928, he was united in marriage to Lenore Winter at her parent’s home in Villisca. He is survived by his wife Lenore, three daughters and their husbands, Mr. and Mrs. Ray (Barbara) MacIntosh, Mr. and MRs. Maurice (Joyce) Nevius, and Mr. and Mrs. John (Jane) Thorson; seven grandchildren, Connie Nevius Hillhouse, Angela MacIntosh Sherman, Joe McIntosh, Mary MacIntosh, Bob McIntosh, Kristine Tollakson, Joan Thorson; one great grandson, Jeff Hillhouse; two sisters, Sylvia Enarson, Villisca, and Florence Langbehn, Roswell, New Mexico; He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Ray was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and one brother. He was a member of the United Methodist Church and in his younger years was very active in Sunday School work. Services were held Wednesday, February 27, 1980 at the United Methodist Church in Villisca, Iowa. The Reverend Clair Kerns officiated at the 2:00 p.m. services. Flower bearers were Mr. and Mrs. Helmar Asklof and Mr. ad Mrs. Ernest Danielson. Music was provided by Mr. Ralph Diffey and accompanied by Mrs. Ralph Diffey. Musical selections were, “ How Great Thou Art” and “The Lord’s Prayer”. Mrs Yale Wright and Mrs. Ed Bauer were in charge of the Memory Book. Ushers were Irvin Sierp and Wade Scholey. Casket bearers were Floyd Marvick, Len Hillhouse, Joe McIntosh, Tom Enarson, and John Sherman. Interment was in the Villisca Cemetery. Arrangements were provided by Sutphen Funeral Home of Villisca.
