Description	:	FUNERAL RITES FRIDAY FOR RAYMOND E. KERSHAW Raymond E. Kershaw, age 52, long time Merrick county farmer, died at 6:30 a.m. Monday following a lingering illness. Ailing for 17 years, he had been an invalid for the past four. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Kershaw and was born August 9, 1892 at Ashland, Nebraska. At the age of 10 years he came to this community where he has since resided. On October 31, 1917 he married Eva Hoyt at Spalding, Nebraska and they at once began farming near Silver Creek. In earlier years he was a member of the Congregational church and affiliated with the Odd Fellows lodge of Silver Creek. Survivors include his wife, two children, Johnny and Daisy, both at home, his mother, Mrs. J.W. Kershaw of Silver Creek, seven sisters and two brothers. Funeral services will be held at the Methodist church in Silver Creek at two p.m. Friday with Rev. H.F. Beebe, officiating. Burial in the Silver Creek cemetery. The body will be taken from the Fleming Funeral Home at 4 p.m. Thursday to the family home to lie in state until the time of the service. Silver Creek Sand, December 22, 1944
