Description	:	Raymond Hefner, 87, died at 6:42 p.m. Feb. 21, 2008, at his residence. He was born Aug. 27, 1920, in Lafayette to Jesse William and Ora Ann Fetter Hefner. On Feb. 16, 1947, he married Blanche M. Farquharson, who survives in Lima. Mr. Hefner was a general farmer on his family farm. He was a lifelong member of Heidelberg Reformed Church. Read More	Raymond Hefner, 87, died at 6:42 p.m. Feb. 21, 2008, at his residence. He was born Aug. 27, 1920, in Lafayette to Jesse William and Ora Ann Fetter Hefner. On Feb. 16, 1947, he married Blanche M. Farquharson, who survives in Lima. Mr. Hefner was a general farmer on his family farm. He was a lifelong member of Heidelberg Reformed Church. He was a graduate of Harrod High School. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He loved his family and his farm and was a dedicated husband, dad, grandpa and great-grandpa. Survivors also include four sons, David R. Hefner, Michael J. (Bonnie) Hefner and Philip S. Hefner, all of Lima, and Timothy J. (Becky) Hefner, of Lafayette; four daughters, J. Elaine (J. Henry) Burkholder, of Meadville, Pa., Marilyn L. (Gordon) Ketteman, of Pflugerville, Texas, Jean M. Lowe, of Columbus, and Patty A. (John) Rinker, of Fort Wayne, Ind.; a brother, Clark Hefner, of Lima; and 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Bryan R. and Herbert L. Hefner; a sister, Christine M. Hefner; and a foster brother, Dwight Holman. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Chiles-Laman Funeral Homes, Lewis Eastside Chapel. The Rev. Robert Pepple will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, with military rites by VFW Post 1275. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
