Raymond Lee Harms was born on December 5, 1924, at Parker, SD, the son of Herman and Olive (Rector) Harms. He grew up in rural Chancellor and attended Middleton District 20 rural school. Read More	Raymond Harms, 94, of Lennox, SD, died Sunday, October 6, 2019 at his home under hospice care. Raymond Lee Harms was born on December 5, 1924, at Parker, SD, the son of Herman and Olive (Rector) Harms. He grew up in rural Chancellor and attended Middleton District 20 rural school. He served in the US Army, in Germany, during WWII, from 1945 until his honorable discharge in 1946. On December 11, 1945 he was united in marriage to Beulah Gors. The couple lived in Chancellor until moving to their farm southwest of Chancellor in 1948. In 1979 they retired from farming and moved back into Chancellor. Beulah died on February 22, 2004. On October 2, 2005 he was united in marriage to Joretta Heien-Blackmore. The couple lived in Chancellor and Davis before moving to Lennox in 2012. Raymond was a faithful member of Chancellor Reformed Church and the Chancellor American Legion. He enjoyed hunting and fishing in his younger years. He was devoted Minnesota Twins fan who also liked FOX News and playing Rummkub. Ray especially enjoyed "riding the trail" on his scooter and visiting with family and friends. He was a devoted husband who deeply cared for and loved his family. Besides his parents and wife, Beulah, Raymond was preceded in death by siblings: Marge Burma, Henrietta Dressman, Kenneth Harms and Leonard Harms; brother-in-law; Henry DeNeui and step-daughter, Linda Dean. Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Joretta Harms; step-daughters: Nancy (Gene) Isom, Neosho, MO and Amy (Bill) Meyer, Odessa, FL; seven step-grandchildren and nine step-great-grandchildren; siblings: Lorene DeNeui, Chancellor and Earl (Linda) Harms, East Stroudsbury, PA; sister-in-law, Lilly Harms, Beresford, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. Services will begin at 1:30 p.m. Friday, October 11 at Chancellor Reformed Church, Chancellor, SD with burial to follow in the Hurley Cemetery.
