His age was 31 years, 6 months, 8 days. Funeral services were held in the Methodist church here Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock and were conducted by the Rev. E.A. Schmidt, of the Stanhope Christian church. The large attendance at the last service and the many beautiful floral offerings were a lasting tribute to the popularity of the young man. Read More	Stratford Courier December 3, 1931 Raymond Lund Raymond Revoe Lund was born on May 16, 1900, at the family home east of Stratford, and passed away at his home, Nov. 24, 1931. His age was 31 years, 6 months, 8 days. Funeral services were held in the Methodist church here Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock and were conducted by the Rev. E.A. Schmidt, of the Stanhope Christian church. The large attendance at the last service and the many beautiful floral offerings were a lasting tribute to the popularity of the young man. The pall bearers were Loran Fallein, Carl Sackrison, Sidney Young, Roland Erickson, Marvin and Elmo. Fitting songs were rendered by a mixed quartet from the Christian church at Stanhope. Interment was made in the South Marion cemetery. A few weeks ago deceased became ill with flu which later developed into heart trouble and caused his death. He attended the Stratford public school and was a member of the Baptist Sunday school. In 1917 he took a course of training at Highland Park College in Des Moines and since that time has devoted his time to farming. On August 20, 1931, he was united in marriage to Miss Wilma Runyan of Fort Dodge and they had since made their home on the former Leksell farm which was jointly owned by the deceased and his brother. He leaves to mourn his early passing, his bereaved wife, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. D.J. Lund, one brother, Lorandis, and one sister, Miss Gertrude, other relatives and a host of friends. Practically his entire life had been spent in the community where he was born with the exception of two years when the family lived at Bancroft. He was a young man whom everyone was proud to call a friend and was a genial, hale and hearty young man so that his death came as a severe blow to all.
