Description	:	Reba A. Lathrop, the second daughter of Peter Overmire Crawford and Annie Stevenson, was born December 21, 1904 in rural Toledo, Iowa. She attended rural schools and graduated from Toledo High School with the Class of 1923, with a normal training certificate and taught in rural schools of Tama County. She married Ralpth Irwin Sturtz on December 12, 1927 at the Methodist Parsonage in Marshalltown. They farmed for many years in Tama County with the exception of five years near Montezuma. Lathrop, the second daughter of Peter Overmire Crawford and Annie Stevenson, was born December 21, 1904 in rural Toledo, Iowa. She attended rural schools and graduated from Toledo High School with the Class of 1923, with a normal training certificate and taught in rural schools of Tama County. She married Ralpth Irwin Sturtz on December 12, 1927 at the Methodist Parsonage in Marshalltown. They farmed for many years in Tama County with the exception of five years near Montezuma. Ralph died May 1, 1948 but Reba continued to farm until her four children finished high school and married. She cared for many elderly in their homes until July 6, 1964 when she married Clark Lathrop of Waterloo, residing there until May 1977, when they moved to Toledo. After Clark's death on April 9, 1988, she continued to live in Toledo. On February 2, 1995 she moved to Riverside Manor where her death came on Wednesday, May 15, 1996 at the age of 91. Reba was a member of United Methodist Church U.M.W. and the Toledo Garden Club. She is preceded in death by her parents, her two husbands,3 sisters, 2 brothers and her two sons Myron Donald in 1932 and Ralph Jr. in 1942. She is survived by her children Myra Dell Mulcahy of Woodward Iowa, Lillian (Mrs. Raymond) Lawson of Ames, Neal E. Sturtz of Ames, and Wanda (Mrs. Robert) Bates of Newton, a sister, Mardelle Drury of Garwin, a brother Warren Crawford of Magna, Utah, 17 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild. She is also survived by 3 step-daughters and 2 step-sons.
