As per records including burial records and her father's will, Rebeckah Weld had a sister Rebecca Weld who died young; a sister Mary Weld who married Ebenezer Seaver Mrs. Mary Seaver; and two further sisters Deborah Weld and Elizabeth Weld who both married Davis. She also had brothers Ebenezer Weld and Nathaniel Weld. Rebeckah is named in her father's will as Rebeckah Brewer. Her husband was Joseph Brewer. Together they had children. Not every tree found online lists each child: often descendants focus only on their own lineage and do not include information or even note others. This family married only cousins, which is why this author has taken care to explore and document all proven members of each family in every generation. Rebeckah Weld was born to Mary Craft and Ebenezer Weld. Mary Craft was the daughter of Elizabeth Sharp and Samuel Craft, Jr. In Roxbury and Brookline, the same Craft family uses spelling variations including Crafts, Croft, Crofts, and even Cruft or Crufts. This does not mean they were not involved with family who used another spelling. It is simply a personal choice made for various reasons and in some cases not a choice but simply how an official taking a record chose to spell the Craft name. Lieut. Griffin Craft's name appears in the second installment of those who were made Freemen, viz. : May 18, 1631. From the work entitled "The records of the Governor & Company of the Massachusetts Bay in New England", we find that Griffin Croft was a Deputy to the Gen. Court holden at Boston, Mch. 13, 1638. He was again a Deputy to the Courts of Election holden May 27, 1663, and May 18, 1664, at which Jno. Endicott was chosen Governor and to the Courts of Election holden May 3, 1665, May 23, 1666, and May 15, 1667. at which Richard Bellingham, Esq., was chosen Governor. He was also Deputy to the special meetings of the Gen. And halfe a quarter of the Band of Marsh that was Mr. Hugh Prichards bounded upon Robert Pepper north, upon Edward Bridg south, and east, and upon Muddy river west. And sixteen accres more or Jesse called squirrills delight bounded by his owne land on the north, upon the way leading to Mr. Hibbing farme west, upon Mr. John Gores land South west and upon William Lewis. Pelegg Heath and Robert Seaver southeast. And two accres of swamp more or lesse lying at the west end of Edward Morris, his lott being part of Edward Morris, his lott lying upon the east of Griffon Craft, Robert Seavers land lying north and south of it.
