Description	:	KESLER REGINALD ROY KESLER of New Dayton, passed away suddenly near Stirling, AB on May 16, 2001 at the age of 81. Besides his loving wife of 30 years, Elizabeth "Liz" (Russell), he is survived by son Greg (Judy) Kesler of Magrath, and daughters Pat (Gary) Norton of Rosemany, Janet (Dale) Clifton of Hays, LeAnne (Keith) Lane of Granum, and Jeanne (Lee) Cesar also of Granum; 17 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; his brother, Leonard (Ruth) of New Dayton, his mother-in-law, Irene Russell of Henrietta, TX, and sister-in-law, Margie (Branum) Chrisholm. He was predeceased by his father Elmer Kesler, his mother Florence Hicken, his step-father, Albert Hicken, his brother, Wallace Kesler and his son, Mark. Reg was born on October 16, 1919 in Lethbridge, AB. He was raised on the farm near New Dayton where his love of animals began. His rodeo career commenced at the tender age of eleven, riding steers in Raymond. He worked every event in rodeo as a contestant, winning numerous awards including Canadian All-Round Champion in 1948, '51 and '53. He started Reg Kessler Rodeo Ltd. in Rosemary, AB in 1951. Reg spent 45 years in the rodeo stock contracting profession. He was inducted into the Raymond Sports Hall of Fame and the Canadian Rodeo Hall of Fame in 1989, the Alberta Sports Hall of Fame in 1990 and Pro-Rodeo Hall of Fame - Colorado Springs in 1992. Reg was also a proud founding member of the Canadian Rodeo Historical Association and the Western Heritage Center. Funeral Services will held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 23, 2001 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, RAYMOND STAKE CENTRE, Raymond, AB. Interment in the Temple Hill Cemetery.
