Rev. Cleo Kautsch will officiate at the rites. Burial will be in Roselawn cemetery. Mrs. Janssen had been in failing health for several years, but was bedfast only one day prior to her death. The body will lie in state at the McKown Funeral Home from 10 a.m. Sunday until Monday at 10 a.m. when it will be taken to the family home to lie in state until the hour of service. Born Reka Johnson in Gillespie, Ill., August 6, 1872, she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Heye Johnson. The family moved to Platte County in 1886. She receved her education in the Platte County schools. She married Henry W. Janssen in St. Johns Church, Platte County, February 26, 1908. Mrs. Janssen was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church of Platte Center, and was a charter member of the Ladies Aid. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Mrs. Ella Hellbusch; one brother, O.H. Johnson, and three brothers and one sister, who died in infancy. Survivors include her husband and one sister, Mrs. J.B. Lawrence, Bozeman, Mont. The Columbus Daily Telegram, July 6, 1954 JANSSEN--Janssen Rites - Funeral services for Mrs. Henry Janssen, 81, Platte Center were held Monday afternoon at the Grace Lutheran church Platte Center with the Rev. Cleo Kautsch, pastor, in charge. Burial was in Roselawn Memorial cemetery. Pallbearers were Elno and Roy Johnson, Leonard and Harold Janssen, Ed Schmidt and Ernest Hellbusch. Out-of-town relatives were present from Fremont, Greeley, Grand Island, Belgrade, Creston, Scotia, Humphrey and Columbus.
