Description	:	Reuben Albert Johnson, the son of Albert and Emma (Eckberg) Johnson, was born June 22, 1909, on a farm near Marquette, Nebraska, and died October 13, 1994, at Lincoln, Nebraska, at the age of 85 years, 3 months, and 11 days. At an early age he moved with his parents to a farm southwest of Hordville, where he attended public school and graduated from Hordville High School in 1926. Read More	Reuben Albert Johnson, the son of Albert and Emma (Eckberg) Johnson, was born June 22, 1909, on a farm near Marquette, Nebraska, and died October 13, 1994, at Lincoln, Nebraska, at the age of 85 years, 3 months, and 11 days. At an early age he moved with his parents to a farm southwest of Hordville, where he attended public school and graduated from Hordville High School in 1926. He attended York College for 1 year in 1928, and afterwards worked at various construction jobs until 1939, when he moved to Omaha and was employed as a retail salesman for Roberts Dairy Company. He served his country during World War 2 in the U.S. Army, form December 23, 1940, to October 6, 1945, and served with the 134th Infantry. On January 1, 1946, he was employed at the Southern Nebraska Rural Public Power District of Grand Island until May of 1951, when due to an accident injury he moved to Aurora and joined the L.T. Johnson Agency in the insurance and real estate business. On September 27, 1953, he was united in marriage to June M. Spry, at Aurora, Nebraska, who was later engaged in the insurance company after the retirement of Mr. & Mrs. L.T. Johnson, in 1962. He retired from the insurance business in 1974, and sold his interest in the agency to Bob Leach and Bob Clark. Reuben was a member of the Aurora United Methodist Church, was past president of the Aurora Chamber of Commerce, past president of the Aurora Country Club, served 2 terms on the Aurora City Council, was a member of the Aurora American Legion, was past master of the Aurora Masonic Lodge #68, A.F. & A.M., belonged to the Scottish Rite, was a member of the Ancient Arabic Order of the Mystic Shrine, and was past patron of the Aurora Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star #93. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother Maurice, and a step-son Steve Norris. Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife June, of Aurora; a step-daughter Karen Bryant of Waterloo; one brother Maynard of Aurora; one sister Ellen Benson of Aurora; his mother-in-law, Myrtle Spry of Aurora; one grand daughter Athena Montague and a great grand daughter Ahlia Montague.
