Kisor; John, who died in Texas two years ago, having gone there when it was an independent republic; David, who died in Union township; and Robert, who died in Iowa City, Iowa. Reuben Kisor, born in Knox county, Ohio, April 29, 1819, died in Union township, Mahaska county, in November, 1897. Now back to things, on 23 Mar 1841 while living in his native Knox County, OH he married Mary Buckingham. Mary's parents were William and Nancy (McClelland) Buckingham. They were both from SW PA, (Washington & Greene Counties), and in 1823 moved to Knox County, OH. In 1856 the Kisor family move from Morgan twp, Knox County, OH to Union twp, Mahaska Co, IA. Other neighboring Kisor sibling made the move with Rueben. When they arrived Rueben bought 160 acres of land and worked to clear it of lumber. Other family bought lands just to the east of Rueben. Rueben built two log cabins which the family lived in until 1860. Rueben and Mary had 5 children, Cary, Melissa, Wm, Mary & Nancy. His wife Mary, some of there children and other Kiser/Kisor family are also buried in this cemetery.
