Description	:	Rev. Henry G. Eggink, 92, of Sioux Center died Saturday, March 31, 2001, at the Sioux Center Community Health Center. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, April 4 at 1:30 p.m. at Central Reformed Church in Sioux Center. Rev. Marilyn Rensink officiated. Burial was held prior to the memorial service at Memory Garden Cemetery in Sioux Center under the direction of the Memorial Funeral Home; Sioux Center. Read More	Rev. Henry G. Eggink, 92, of Sioux Center died Saturday, March 31, 2001, at the Sioux Center Community Health Center. Burial was held prior to the memorial service at Memory Garden Cemetery in Sioux Center under the direction of the Memorial Funeral Home; Sioux Center. Henry was born on Dec. 28, 1908, at Sioux Center, the son of Henry K. and Angelina (Boeyink) Eggink. He graduated from Sioux Center High School and continued his education at Central College. He later graduated from Western Theological Seminary in Holland, Mich. His first pastorate was the Reformed Church of Chancellor, S.D. Rev. Eggink returned to Sioux Center and taught Bible in the public schools for eight years. He served as pastor of the Alton and Hospers Presbyterian Churches for nine years. Following post-graduate studies at the University of Southern California at Berkley and the University of Iowa, he became Professorof Philosophy and Religion at Buena Vista College for 21 years. Upon retirement from the college at age 65, Henry and Lucile Fenn were married. They returned to parish ministries in the Jefferson, Iowa Presbyterian Church and the Auburn, Iowa Presbyterian Church. The couple made their home in Sioux Center since 1981, living in their own home until the Regency Retirement Apartments opened. Henry joined Lucile in the nursing home in May of l996. She died in November, 1998. Survivors include a sister, Mabel L. Vande Brake from Oregon and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Clarence; and two sisters, Johanna "Hanny" DeWit and Christina Eggink. Sioux County Capital 2001-04-05.
