Description	:	Rev. Kenneth Shinn, age 93, of Osceola, MO, passed away Friday, May 10, 2013, at the Westwood Nursing Home in Clinton, MO. He was born on June 27, 1919, in St. Clair County, just across the road from his current home, the son of Charles Wesley and Leta Susan Wisdom Shinn. Olive Church of God Holiness. He was devoted to serving His... Read More	Rev. Kenneth Shinn, age 93, of Osceola, MO, passed away Friday, May 10, 2013, at the Westwood Nursing Home in Clinton, MO. He was born on June 27, 1919, in St. Clair County, just across the road from his current home, the son of Charles Wesley and Leta Susan Wisdom Shinn. Due to the death of his mother, he was raised by Myrtle and Henry Devine from age one. On October 12, 1934, Kenneth was saved and at the age of 17, he began his ministry at the Mt. Olive Church of God Holiness. He was devoted to serving His Lord for 73 years. He continued to share the gospel of his Lord Jesus Christ throughout his life serving many churches throughout the area and performing many weddings,funerals and baptisms. He was united in marriage to Charlotte O'Guinn on April 1, 1941 at the home of their minister, Rev. Orval Scott. They made their home on the farm on the Benton/St. Clair County line near Wisdom. Here they would raise their family of three sons and three daughters. Kenneth enjoyed hunting and fishing in the Ozarks. He also loved to garden and share it with family and friends. The time he spent with his family and share in their lives was most enjoyable to him and devotion to them was of the utmost importance. Kenneth was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Charlotte, in 2006, a son, James Leslie Shinn in 1973, a sister, Grace Root and three brothers, William Robert Shinn, Jack Eldon Shinn and Larry Shinn. He is survived by his children, John Shinn, and wife, Ruby, of Independence, MO, June Gillogly and husband, Ralph, of Drexel, MO, Janice Ramirez, and husband, Joe, of Kansas City, MO, Junior Shinn of Quincy, MO and Jane Kirchhoff, and husband, Merle, of Independence, MO, 13 grandchildren and numerous great and great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a brother, Leonard McCellan Shinn of Arlington, VA, and a sister, Mary Tipton, and husband, Virgil, of Meridian, Kansas, other relatives and many friends. Funeral services for Rev. Kenneth Shinn will be at 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at the Reser Funeral Home, Warsaw, MO, with Rev. Noel Scott officiating. Burial will be in the Iconium Cemetery near Quincy, MO. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Monday evening at the Reser Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Iconium Cemetery in care of the Reser Funeral Home, P.O. Box 910, Warsaw, MO. 65355.
