Description	:	Reva May Van Patten went to be with the Lord and her family on October 24, 2011, at her home, at the age of 84 years old. Reva was born on September 20, 1927, near Springfield, SD. She was the oldest of seven children in the family of Lloyd and Vivian (Hiserote) McClanahan. Read More	Reva May Van Patten went to be with the Lord and her family on October 24, 2011, at her home, at the age of 84 years old. Reva was born on September 20, 1927, near Springfield, SD. She was the oldest of seven children in the family of Lloyd and Vivian (Hiserote) McClanahan. When she was quite young her family moved to a farm purchased by her parents southwest of Winner in Star Prairie Township. She grew up on the farm and attended grade school at Star Prairie Township. Reva graduated from Winner High School in 1946. She worked at the Sweet Shop while attending high school. After graduating from high school she was employed at the AAA Office. Reva married William (Bill) A. Van Patten on June 27, 1948, and made their home in Winner. To this union four children were born. Reva worked at the Production Credit Office and Winner Auction Company besides being a homemaker. She enjoyed playing cards, knitting, crocheting, quilting, working crossword puzzles, and having family dinners. Most of all, she enjoyed the company of her grandchildren. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, American Legion Auxiliary, and VFW Auxiliary. Thankful for sharing her life are her four children, Ron and wife Patricia of Rapid City, SD, Don and wife Jan of Park City, KS, Lynn and husband Keith DeMers of Colome, SD, Mike and wife Lynn of Marshall, MN; five grandchildren, Rhonda Van Patten of Rapid City, SD, Courtney and Karie DeMers of Colome, SD, Nathan Van Patten of Marshall, MN, and Jonathan Van Patten of Fargo, ND. She is also survived by her sister Sharon Quick of Hinton, IA; her brothers Roger (Betty) McClanahan of Virgil, SD, and Kenneth (Kay) McClanahan of Casper, WY; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Preceding her in death were her husband, Bill; her parents; an infant brother; sisters Mavis Soles, Velda Ramser; and her brother Garold McClanahan. Funeral services will be Friday, October 28 at the United Methodist Church. Visitation will be before services at the church. Burial will be at the Winner Cemetery. Mason Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
