He never married. He owned property in Wythe and Carroll Counties. He lefted his property to his brother in Law , John Law and his cousin of the same name. He was a farmer. 3. James P Stephens 1791-1880 He married Sarah Sally Seabolt They had 5 children. James was a shoemaker by trade. His family live above his shoe shop in Wytheville, VA. They also had a farm in rural Wythe Co. VA. 4. Elizabeth Stephens 1793-1866 She married William Dobbins They had 6 children. 5. Joseph Stephens 1789-1837 He married Isabella Longaerd They had 7 children 6. Rebecca Stephens 1802-1881 She married Samuel Calfee and they had 8 children. 7. Martha Stephens 1805-1881 She married Thomas Rice They had 6 children . Thomas was a Methodist minister and a veteran of the War of 1812. Rhoda married Sgt. John Early (War of 1812 Vet.) and they raised a family. They had five children. 1. Joanne Early born on Jan 1, 1812 in Carroll Co, Va and died on April 17, 1889 She married John Joseph Tipton on Nov 27,1827 in Grayson, VA . John was born on Feb 8, 1800 and died on April 17, 1853 in Carroll, VA. They had 9 children. 2. Nancy Early born on Mar 17, 1815 in Wythe Co, Va and died on Nov 7 1882 in Carroll Co, VA , at the age of 67. She married Isaac Farmer on Mar 8, 1832 in Grayson, VA. She married Lieutenant Isaac L Framer on Mar 8, 1832 in Grayson, VA by Rev. Lawrence Stephens, Nancy's grandfather. Isaac was born in Au 1808 in Grayson Co, Va and died in Sep 1890 in Carroll, Co, VA. He on the confederate side in the Civil War. He inherited 175 acre tract of land on Wolf Glade Creek by his father. They had 4 children. 3. James Early born on Mar 15, 1817 in Wythe , VA and died on Oct 14, 1896 in Carroll Co, Va . He married Jane Kenny on Oct 26, 1843 in Carroll, VA. They had 12 children. James married Rhoda Wygal on Feb 12, 1862 in Carroll , VA . They had 3 child. 4. Peter Early born in 1819 in Grayson Co, Va and died in 1889 in Carroll, VA. Peter went into the 24th VA inf. in the Civil War Peter was a farmer and a saddler by trade. He married Jane Worrell on Mar 9, 1854 Jane was born on Jan 28, 1860 and died on 1909 in Carroll , VA. They had 4 children. 5. John Early born on Feb 8, 1820 and died on Oct 16, 1881 in Cranberry Plains in VA. He married Ann Elizabeth Johnson on Jul 23, 1850 in Carroll, VA. Ann was born on Nov 12, 1828 in Orange, VA and died on Feb 1, 1880. They had 6 children. Rhoda's husband , John Early died in 1820, at the age of 33. In 1843 she married widower John Frederick Straw.
