BROWN IS DEAD Mrs. Rhoda Brown was born near Richmond, in Wayne county, Ind. She departed this life Sunday morning Dec., 20th at about 1 o'clock in the morning, at the age of 76 years, 2 months, and 10 days. The funeral services were held at the residence in the south part of town, where she had resided of late, and were conducted by the Rev. Zimiri Stubbs, pastor of the Friends church of Cottonwood, the services taking place Wednesday, Dec., 23, at 10 o'clock in the morning. The remains were laid to rest besides those of her husband in the Fruitland cemetery. She had been an almost life member of the Quaker church, and died strong in the faith of her youth. She moved from Indiana with her husband and family many years ago, and settled in Fruitland, and from there to our city where she has been a resident for the past two decades or more, and was well and favorably known. She ahs two sons residing in Indiana, William and Esan, William being present at the funeral and two sons here, Lew and Amos, besides three daughters, Minnie, Callie Stanton and Elma Shunk, and several grandchildren to mourn her loss. She ahd reached a ripe old age, and while she will be deeply missed by her children and friends, they have the consoling thought that they may meet her in the bright hereafter.
