Funeral arrangements will be announced later. Mrs. Brown, the daughter of Daniel F. Bitler and Elizabeth Waggoner Bitler, was born in Olpe, Aug. 18th, 1873. She married Nemuel Brown in Emporia, July 18th 1893, and had lived in Emporia since that time. Mr. Brown died Aug. 8th, 1932. She is survived by four daughters and two sons, Mrs. Ina Montgomery and Lee Brown, Emporia; Mrs. Bertha Taylor, Topeka; Robert Brown, Admire; Mrs. Ethel Gooch, Wichita; Mrs. Nellie Burrow, Springdale, Conn.; 10 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Maggie Hines, Madison. She was a member of the First Christian Church. ************************************* Emporia Gazette, Thursday, January 17, 1957; p.5, c.2 Brown Funeral Friday Funeral services for Mrs. Rhoda Kate Brown, who died Wednesday morning, will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the McVey Chapel, conducted by the Rev. D. Neal Morris, pastor of the First Christian Church. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery. The casket will be open at the funeral home this evening, but will be closed at the service. *************************************** Emporia Gazette, Saturday, January 19, 1957; p.2, c.2 Rites for Mrs. Brown Funeral services for Mrs. Rhoda Kate Brown, 506 South East St., who died Wednesday were held at 2 p.m. Friday in the McVey Chapel, conducted by the Rev.
