Description	:	Rhudy Alexander Brazelton was born at home in Elbert, CO. He was the first child born to Maude and Joe Brazelton and the 1st grandchild of John and Belle Rhudy. He was the first child born to Maude and Joe Brazelton and the 1st grandchild of John and Belle Rhudy. He went to school in Elbert until he was old enough to be of help on the farm. He did not graduate from high school. Part of the time he was growing up he lived with his Aunt and Uncle Carl Rhudy. He helped do work for both families. He was tall like his granddad Brazelton, about 6'1" or 2". His hair was dark brown as a young man and thin and gray as he grew older. He liked to chew tobacco and use swear words. He looked very much like his mother Maude Brazelton. Pete loved to hunt and trap. He married Aunt Dot, and they never had any children. Uncle Pete and Aunt Dot lived in Idaho as I was growing up. Once a year they would take a trip to Florida and stop at our house going both ways. We called them the rich relatives because they drove a new Cadillac and vacationed in Florida. Pete always gave us a shinny silver dollar too! They had to be rich! In the late 1960's they moved back to CO and lived near his sister Iola. We saw them more often then as they came to most all the big family gatherings. Pete became ill while sister Thelma was on a trip to CA. She hurried home and was at the hospital with him holding his hand when he died. She feels that he was waiting for her to come home so he could say good-bye.
