He had resided in Elbert all of his life, where he engaged in farming. He was a charter member of the Elbert Grange. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Maude Brazelton of Elbert, three sons, Rhudy A. Brazelton of Bellflower, Calif., Norman glenn Brazelton of Greeley, Colo., and Arthur G. Brazelton of Elbert; four daughters, Ivy B. Siefried of Venice, Calif., Mrs. Iola M. Weiss of Parker, Colo., Thelma L. Shimpfky of Elizabeth, Colo., and Eula L. Harrison of Elbert, Co., 14 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs john F. Epler of Lafayette, Colo., and Mrs. A. J. Elsner, Colorado Springs, and a brother Ralph A. Brazelton of Saugus, Calif. Funeral services will be held at the Christian church in Elbert, Colo., Saturday at 11 a.m., theRev. E. D. Hagerman, clergyman. The Law mortuary had charge of funeral arrangements and interment will be in the Elbert cemetery. Joe was the son of Alexander Brazelton and Emma Brazelton. He was born on the Alexander Brazelton Ranch south of Elbert. His education was received in the public schools of Elbert County and at Colorado State University, Fort Collins, CO. Joseph Brazelton farmed until 1931 when he moved into Elbert and did shoe repair work. His shoe shop washed away in the flood of 1935. Joe was a kind, gentle person and would have been a wonderful Doctor. He was about 5'5, Brown hair, Brown eyes. Among his ailments he always had stomach trouble, he had rheumatism, slow moving, and reflux disease. Thelma said she has always thought that he died of stomach cancer. FAMILY STORY: Joe Brazelton was complaining that "all the young kids want to do today is get in their cars and see how fast and far they can go!" Maude said "Things weren't any different when you were a kid." Joe said, " I never owned a car in my life!" She said, " No but you sure brag about hitching your horse and nobody could pass you!" Joe answered, " By gosh you're right, and they didn't!"
