Description	:	NEER, Richard C 79, of Springfield, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, December 20, 2011. He was born on April 25, 1932, the son of the late Mahlon and Maude (Goodson) Neer. Richard is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Betty (Reisinger) Neer; daughters, Twylla (Ron) Simpson, Tamra Neer (Lyn Thomas) and Terri (Andrew) Gerkin; grandchildren, Ben and Nathan Gerkin and Jason and Regina Elrod; 5 great-grandchildren; brother, Ernest (Jane) Neer; sisters, Shirley Denney and Dorothy McDonough; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He is preceded in death by his brother, Harold Neer. Richard was a member of the High street United Methodist Church. He retired from the Air Force after 20 years and also retired from Stanley Electric in London. He was a wonderful and dedicated husband, father and grandfather who was a role model for all. He deeply cherished and loved his family more than anything else. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 23, 2011 from 10-11 am at the JACKSON LYTLE & LEWIS FUNERAL HOME-Springfield where a celebration of Richard's life will begin at 11 am Pastor Jeff Allen officiating.
