He was born in Walnut Grove,MO.,April 5,1916, to Arlie Dean and Pearl May(Box) Rodman. One of six children, he was raised and educated in Tonovay,KS. On December 4,1937 he married Leona Hale at Cottonwood Falls,KS and the couple farmed in the Tonovay and Hamilton communities. On February 11,1961, he married Jean Way Beeman in Elsworth, Maine, and the couple moved to Oxford in 1961. Mr. Rodman had been a carpenter and contractor. He was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church of Oxford, for which he served many years on the board of trustees. He was a member of the Oxford Masonic Lodge, Order of the Easter Star and the Oxford Lions Club. He had served on the Oxford city council and was the mayor for seven years. He also was president of the board for Riverview Manor in Oxford. Survivors are his wife, Jean of the home, two sons, Wayne E. Rodman of Grove,OK and Donald F. Rodman of Dumas,TX; one daughter, Janet L. Carrington of Kansas City,MO; one step-son, Joe Beeman of Orlando,FL; two step-daughters, Judy C. Franklin of Honolulu, Hawaii, and Sally E. Martell of Orlando,FL; two brothers, James Arlie Rodman of Toronto,KS and Glen A Rodman of Wichita,KS; seven grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. Twin great-grandsons, Lance and Nathan Carrington, preceded him in death. Services were held September 23 at the First Baptist Church in Oxford. Burial in the Greenwood Cemetery, Eureka KS.
