Actually his was Ellsworth as shown on "The Norfolk Daily News", Norfolk, Nebraska, Saturday, Aug. 17, 1935 on page 2. Thanks to one of the contributors for clarification and notes.... So kept the cost down or so they think and say." Steven's note: "Reading old days newspaper is always an interesting/intriguing read. About the Allberry cemetery, my dad’s half sister Norriane always grumbled about others cited down with the two R’s instead of one. My dad didn’t care…. Always said “Why do you have to know?” “Because I’m your son, Dad!” 1940 Census shows a widow, Carrie, age 74, living with her son Fred at the age of 48. His wife Florence Belle Sherlock ~ 46. The property was deeded by John and Margaret Allbery to the Methodist Episcopal Church for use as a cemetery in 1879. I’m assuming that is how the cemetery received its name. According to the deed, the property is 5 acres, more or less. My records don’t show that John and Margaret are buried there. No death records are filed in the Madison County Courthouse. The Allbery Cemetery records (not very good records) are filed in my office because the cemetery is owned by the County.
