Slusser, 44, a resident of Wichita from 1915 to 1933 when he moved to Butler county, died Friday at his home in El Dorado. While in Wichita he was an engineer for the Southwest Cracker company and went to El Dorado to farm. Surviving are his wife, Lucy, and daughter, Ruth. Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at the Byrd mortuary at El Dorado. THE EL DORADO TIMES January 11, 1941, Page 1, Column 1 RICHARD H. SLUSSER DIES LATE YESTERDAY Richard H. Slusser, Route 1, El Dorado, died here late yesterday afternoon following an illness of over five months. He was 45 years old. Mr. Slusser, a farmer, had resided in the community for the past five years, coming here from Burns. Previously, he had lived at Wichita and in Oklahoma and at one time was employed by the Southwest Cracker Company. The El Doradoan was born at Ringwood, Oklahoma, October 7, 1896 and was married to Lucy M. Pennington at Newkirk, Oklahoma on April 27, 1926. He was a member of the Christian Church at Ringwood. Mr. Slusser is survived by his widow; a daughter, Ruth Joy, at home; and three brothers, Frank and Earl Slusser of Wichita; and Lewis Slusser of Cheney. A sister, Mrs. J.A. Austin, preceded him in death. Funeral services will be conducted at they Byrd Funeral Home tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock with Rev. Tom O. Parish, pastor of the Christian Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Benton Cemetery.
