Harris Sr. Mother: Maude Dockstader Spouse: Leila Baker * Obit * Dick passed away Monday, Aug. 25, 2014, from a stroke. He was born in San Diego to Dick and Maude Harris. He had two brothers, Don and Jack and a sister, Nancy Riley of Ione, Wash. Dick was married to Leila Baker and they had three children, Sandra Jackson, Dixie Glieck, and Rich Harris, of East Helena. The couple later divorced, and after his divorce Dick met and married Jeanne Miller on Aug. 25, 1958. Dick and Jean had two children, daughter Karolyn Harris, of Indiahoma, Okla. and son Craig Harris, of Billings. Dick has nine grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren and 23 great-great-grandchildren. He often said one day he would be his own grandpa. Dick was a man that wore many hats. He owned and operated logging camps, lumber yards, Harris Machinery & Leasing Service, did government surplus, built 450 homes in Laurel, sold mobile homes and ironwood carvings. He and Jeanne also owned Richel Lodge. Throughout his 90 years, he led a full and busy life. Dick was a unique person; any and all people who knew him loved him. He will be solely missed at this end of an era. Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday Sept.r 16 at Cremation & Funeral Gallery.
