On the evening of August 13th, 2016 Sandi went to be with her Savior after battling cancer for eight years. She was attended by family members at home at her passing. She had recently celebrated her 72nd birthday. Sandi was born July 20th 1944 in Seattle, WA. She was the first of three children born to Richard and Leila Harris. Her family returned to Montana when she was a baby. They resided in Laurel, MT where they pursued a variety of businesses including a sawmill, lumber yard and a motel. The family moved to Billings when Sandi was 12. Her parents divorced two years later. Sandi was attending Billings West High School when she met Cliff Jackson. She was married to him January 27th, 1961. They remained happily married for 45 years. Sandi tended their three boys, Robin, Shawn and Tyson while Cliff worked full time at Buttrey's Food Store and earned a bachelor's degree from Eastern Montana College (EMC) in Billings. Later Sandi also matriculated at EMC which she always remembered fondly. In the summer of 1974 Sandi and Cliff purchased the IGA grocery store on Main Street in East Helena, MT, renaming it Heritage Food Store and moving their family to the Helena valley. In summer of 1977 the store was razed by fire. Sandi and Cliff worked tirelessly to find a new location for the store and to find investors to help rebuild it. Finally in November of 1978 a new 10,000 sq ft Heritage Food Store was opened at 109 Lane Ave., once again serving the community that Sandi and Cliff had come to love so much. In 1997 Cliff suffered anoxia as a result of a heart attack. Sandra lovingly attended Cliff for almost 9 years until he died of lung cancer in 2006 Sandi was an active member of the community. She combined her love of bridge and her support of the Florence Crittenton home to run a charity bridge league for the home for years. She also cherished her PEO sisters and the work that they do. Sandi was devastated by the loss of Cliff and had been diagnosed with cancer herself when she met Pius Gleich who married her September 13th, 2008. Pius brought new love and life into Sandi's life. This love helped her to fight cancer and enjoy life, despite the physical challenges, until her passing. Sandi is preceded in death by her first husband Cliff Jackson, her mother Leila Psenda, her step-father Lou Psenda and her father Richard Harris, Jr. She is survived by her second husband; Pius Gleich, her sister Dixie (Jim) Gleich, her brother Richard (Sharon) Harris, her sons; Robin (Marilyn) Jackson, Shawn (Theresa) Jackson and Tyson (Melissa) Jackson, her step-children; Barb (Bob) Kennison, Bob (Susan) Gleich, Sandy (Earnie) Hughes, David (Vicki) Gleich, Sherri (Craig) Plummer as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Viewing will be from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 17th at Anderson Stevenson Wilke Funeral Home, 3750 N. Montana Ave. A memorial service celebrating Sandra’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 18th at the funeral home.
