He was born in Clinton, New Jersey on June 26, 1929, a son of the late Frederick Norman Huff and Mildred Apgar Huff. Read More	Richard Norman Huff Longtime Postmaster Named "Church Member Of The Year" Richard Norman (Dick) Huff, 77, of Lexington, formerly of Metuchen, New Jersy, passed away Tuesday, July 4, 2006 at his home. He was born in Clinton, New Jersey on June 26, 1929, a son of the late Frederick Norman Huff and Mildred Apgar Huff. He later resided in the town of Metuchen with his wife Nancy Lou until her passing in 1990. Richard was the postmaster at the Metuchen office until his retirement in the early eighties. In his earlier years, Richard served in the U.S. Navy. He later went on to be a member of the Metuchen First Aid Squad as well as the Elks, for which he served as Exalted Ruler. In Virginia, he was an active member of the Manly Memorial Baptist Church, where he was a deacon, choir member, men's fellowship member as well as the building and grounds committee. Richard was a member of the Southern Disaster Relief Program. He participated in the "911" disaster relief efforts at ground zero in New York. In 2006 he was named "Church Member of the Year". He is survived by his wife, Joan Huff of Lexington; his daughters: Brenda Wisowaty and husband Bill of Goshen, Va.; Peggy Bove and husband Thomas of Toms River, New Jersy; his son, Robert Huff and wife Carrie of Metuchen, New Jersey; and grandchildren: Kristen Bove Hankes, Russell N. Huff and Candice Huff; two sisters: Nancy Lou Davis of St. Louis, MO; Shirley Orr of Endicott, NY; a stepdaughter, Andrea L. Towles of Portland, OR; a stepson, Michael Liberatore and wife Kristy of Richmond and stepgrandchildren Kyle, Nicholas, Jacob and Lucas. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 8, 2006 at the Manly Memorial Baptist Church with Dr. J. Michael Wilkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Stonewall Jackson Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Memorial Fund of Manly Memorial Baptist Church, 202 S. Main Street, Lexington, Va. 24450. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. at the Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington. Arrangements are being handled by the Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington.
