Description	:	Richard Pencak, 81, of Genoa, died Thursday, April 5, 2012, at Genoa Community Hospital LTC in Genoa. Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Genoa with Fr. Bill L'Heureux officiating. Burial will be at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery – Krakow, with military honors conducted by the Edward H. Larson Post #144 American Legion honor guard. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Monday at the church, with a 7 p.m. Monday vigil service. Visitation will resume one hour prior to the service Tuesday morning at church. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery – Krakow, with military honors conducted by the Edward H. Larson Post #144 American Legion honor guard. Richard Pencak, beloved and adored, husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, was born Nov. 10, 1930, in Chicago, to Stanley and Anna (Czarny) Pencak. He came to live in Genoa with his uncle and aunt, Joseph and Josephine Pencak, in 1941 to help farm. He remained in Genoa and graduated from Genoa High School in 1948. He farmed until he entered the U.S. Marines on May 20, 1952. He was stationed in El Toro, Calif., where he played the trumpet in the Marine Band, until he was honorably discharged on May 19, 1954. He returned to farming in Genoa and on April 7, 1956, Richard was united in marriage to Lila Henggeler in Columbus. They farmed their entire lives in Genoa. Richard was a member of the Genoa American Legion and played the bugle for taps at military funerals. He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Richard enjoyed playing baseball in his younger days and played for Genoa and St. Edward. He enjoyed going to farm auctions, playing Santa Claus at the Genoa City Hall and area country schools, and he liked searching for Indian arrowheads. Richard is survived by: wife: Lila Pencak of Genoa; daughter: Ann (Larry, Jr.) Byrnes of Lincoln; daughter: Cheryl (Kenny) Jasa of St. Edward; daughter: Carol Rimovsky of Lincoln; daughter: Nancy (Ben) Eisenberger of Papillion; son: Joe Pencak of Genoa; son: Tim Pencak of Genoa; son: Mike Pencak of Genoa; 11 grandchildren: Aaron, Breanna, and Arielle Byrnes, Amber (Douthit), Jamos, Kenna, and Wyatt Jasa, Dusty and Jandy Rimovsky, Ben and Megan Eisenberger; two great-grandchildren: Conner and Kaia Douthit; nephew: Dennis (Sue) Pencak; niece: Arlene Engelsman; niece: Carol (Ray) Burton; niece: Lorrie (Stan) Kowalczyk; niece: Sue (David) Boehlefeld. Richard was preceded in death by: parents: Stanley and Anna Pencak, brother: Stanley Pencak, brother: Edward (Mildred) Pencak, sister: Laura Pencak, sister: Jean (Andy) Sabadosh, uncle and aunt: Joseph and Josephine Pencak.
