The Belle Plaine Union, Wednesday, August 17th, 1966 page 12 Robert A. Kasal, who farmed west of Chelsea, was accidently electrocuted Friday, August 5, 1966 at 8 p.m. at his farm home. Kasal and his wife, Evelyn, were removing old siding from their farm home. Mrs. Kasal went in to fix supper. When she came back, she found his body on the ground. An autopsy was held, and it was ruled that he had been electrocuted. Officials theorized that he accidently touched a live wire while working on the house. The rescue squad of Tama was called but Dr. A. J. Havlik said Kasal was dead and there was nothing the firemen could do. In addition to farming, Kasal for the past two and one-half years had been employed by Alan Novotny, Tama, as a carpenter, electrician and plumber. Previously he had worked on various construction jobs in Marshalltown. Robert A. Kasal, son of Frank and Rose A. Dvorak Kasal, was born February 12, 1927 on a farm in Richland Township. On June 22, 1948 he was married to . Evelyn Johnston. He Is survived by his wife, employed as bookkeeper for Novotny Lumber and Paint Co. in Tama; a daughter, Ilene; a son, Raymond; his father, Frank Kasal, Clarinda; and a brother, Walter Kasal, Chelsea. His mother died in 1956. Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 9 at 2 p.m. at Hrabak Funeral Home at Chelsea. Rev. Walter Martin, Haven Community Church, officiated. Mrs. John Kaloupek was organist. Pallbearers were Max Beck, James Van Norden, Keith Foreman, Edwin Kasal, Kenneth Kasal and Norman Dvorak. Burial was in National Cemetery, near Vining.
