Description	:	Robert Anthony Sevigny, 82, died January 16, in Joann's Hope Hospice House in Bonita Springs. Born in Belmont, MA, he lived most of his life in the Boston area with the exception to his eleven years in the United States Navy. In 1988, he retired as vice-president of American Mutual Insurance Company and moved to Fort Myers. Born in Belmont, MA, he lived most of his life in the Boston area with the exception to his eleven years in the United States Navy. In 1988, he retired as vice-president of American Mutual Insurance Company and moved to Fort Myers. During World War II and the Korean War, he was a Navy Corpsman attached to the 2nd and 4th Marine Divisions during their battles of the islands in the South Pacific. In February, he was honored with a medal from the VFW Post in Saipan, Mariana Islands, commemorating the 60th anniversary of their freedom from the Japanese. After the wars, he was stationed at the Naval Hospital in the Panama Canal Zone assisting in the births and having charge of the nursery. Living in Seven Lakes in Fort Myers, Mr. Sevigny was active in the community affairs and organizations, serving on the board, directing the building of the concrete wall around the complex, chairman of the safety committee, etc. He was known by many for his wit and humor and easy-going personality and the fact that he had never used a swear word in his entire life. He was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Alive Sevigny; his first wife of 57 years, Barbara (Hession); brother, Donald; and sister, Jeanne Stedman. Surviving him is his present wife of 32 months, Norma Jean (Taylor); daughters, Catherine Terrell, of Fort Myers and Leslie (Wayne) Sacchetti of Walpole, MA; stepsons, Terrence (Lori) Taylor of Fort Wayne, IN, William Taylor of Swanton, OH, and Robert (Lori) Taylor of Newburg, IN; sister, Dorothy Connors of Holliston, MA; and brother, Paul (Jean) of Kittery Point, ME. He was known as "Papa" to his grandchildren: Jennifer (Terrell) Bryan; Dianna, Michael, and David Terrell; and Adam, Christopher, and Laura Sacchetti; great-grandchildren Noah, Taylor, and Jessie Bryan; Ryan Terrell and Zoe Gahlesdorf. Also included are his step-grandchildren: Terrence Taylor, Jr., of the US Marine Corp, Christopher, Adam and Mitchell Taylor; Jessica Taylor, and Amy and John Taylor. A Celebration of Life Mass will be offered by Father Olive Toner on Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at 9:30 am at Church of the Resurrection of Our Lord on Cypress Lake Drive, Fort Myers. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Hope Hospice of Lee County. Arrangements by National Cremation Society and Funeral Home, N. Fort Myers.
