Bob was born March 27,1930, in McVille, N.D., the son of Gustav and Ruth (Anderson) Thompson. Bob was born March 27,1930, in McVille, N.D., the son of Gustav and Ruth (Anderson) Thompson. He grew up and attended school in Wimbledon and Wing, N.D., graduating from Wing High School, where he played basketball. He managed a creamery in Drake, N.D. He entered the United States Navy on January 2, 1951 in Bismarck, N.D., serving during the Korean Conflict. He was discharged from Norfolk, VA on October 20, 1954. Bob married Eleanor M. Fennern on September 11, 1955 in Jamestown, N.D. He managed the Wimbledon Creamery in Wimbledon, N.D. and the Equity Creamery in Jamestown, N.D. In 1960 he was manager for AGSCO until 1970. In August of 1970 he started Thompson Motor Home Sales in Jamestown, N.D., where he was owner and operator for 30 years. Bob enjoyed fishing and hunting in his early years. Bob is survived by his wife of 44 years, Eleanor M. Thompson of Jamestown, ND; five brothers, James (Carol) Thompson of Yucca Valley, CA; Dale (Hannah) Thompson of Eatonville, WA; Duane (Betty) Thompson of Jamestown, N.D.; Larry (Lucille) Thompson of Carrington, N.D.; Barton (Myrna) Thompson, of Bozeman, MT; and a sister Audrey (Ray) Klaudt, of Bismarck, N.D.; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother (Kent). Funeral Service: 10:30 A.M., Thursday, March 2, 2000 at Trinity Lutheran Church-Jamestown, N.D., with Rev. Norman Anderson officiating. Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens-Jamestown, N.D. Pallbearers: Brian Chandler, Kevin Olson, Jeff Nelson, Brent Ley, Ron Thompson, Mike Thompson. Honorary Pallbearers: James Thompson, Dale Thompson, Duane Thompson, Larry Thompson, Barton Thompson, Palmer Lunde.
